My Story

Diogo Russo Experience + Product Design

I’m an experience + product designer. An agile strategist and project leader known for highly effective designs and creative strategies, capacity for integrative thinking, rapid prototyping, and collaboration. My objective is to leverage the power of business and creativity, create meaningful experiences for multicultural communities, and heal the world.

Currently, I am a senior product designer and creative technologist designer at Climate.com. Enabling farmers to collect and analyze billions of data from their fields to help make better, more informed decisions that can also improve harvests.

As a senior product designer, my responsibilities involve: working across the entire design stack; prototyping and validating ideas; turning concepts into digital products. Planning, and conducting UX research, design sprints, and creative workshops. Delivering storyboards, journey maps, service blueprints, information architecture maps, low-fidelity to high-fidelity coded prototypes, and strategic recommendations for science and product leadership. Collaborating with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Engineers.

In 2014 I moved from Rio de Janeiro to San Francisco, California, to pursue an MBA in Design Strategy at California College of the Arts. A program grounded in design research, human-centered design principles, and Lean Validation. While in the program I had the opportunity to work with many local startups, including Launchpad Central. A company rooted in Steve Blank’s (co-founder) Lean Start-Up methods for rapid iteration and growth to bring products to the market.

Before that,  from 2010 until 2014, I was the co-founder and creative Director at Estúdio Berinjela, a Multimedia Design Studio in Brazil, specializing in web design, interaction, motion, and graphics. I leveraged the studio’s creative vision, and build partnerships with companies like Coca-Cola, Red Bull, and others.

I’m also a skillful cultural producer and visual artist. You can find me working on art and doing fun side projects in my free time. My mottos are “peace in the world” and “save the children”. Currently, I am enjoying living in Berkeley.
